What a weekend!

First, thanks SO much to everyone that wished me a Happy Birthday, y'all had me smilin'!

I've realized the best part of having a birthday is not getting presents, but having a special day for people to show you how much they love you. They're glad that X-amount of years ago, you were brought to this earth to make it brighter. But best of all, the presents that were given to me were straight from the heart.

My handmade kimono from Lacie

And I know that she's probably going to turn me into Walking Death for saying this stuff, but I must. Girl, you really blew me away, and the kindness I've felt from you can't help but make me smile all day long. This morning I got a package, and granted it took me 5 hours to open all the "boxes in boxes" LOL, but what was inside was completely worth the wait...

My very own Green Frog from Kyoto
He's so cute, I wanna eat him up!

My very own "Key to Success"
Everytime I look at it, it'll remind me that I'm on my way...

*gasp* My very own CHEST billboard of my meetings with Skater Boy!
No, it's not an excuse to show you my boobs, I really wanted you to see the detail...

BUT....as I sit here, typing away wearing my key to success, my chest billboard (woo HOO!), AND sitting next to my Kyoto froggy on my desk, I'm still brought back to what I considered the "main part" of this package...the card. I'm no sap, and I could chop suey anyone's ass given the motivation, but I cried when I read the card she sent. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that in my persuits of Anton's ASSets, that I would find such amazing people that I'm completely honored to call Friend. It's no doubt, the best b-day card I've ever received. This mofo knows who she is, but I just wanted to let her know that not only the gifts, but the card made my day. Friends that you click with, feel you could tell anything to, or no matter what you're doing they're just happy to be with you, those friends are hard to come by.

And when you're lucky enough to find them, don't be a fool & always make them feel as special as they really are to you.

Day at a glance:

1. Pissed beyond belief that cable was out, due to power outage, and right at the same time Apolo was on the Early Show. *reaching to kick self*

2. My friend Lacie came by the house, and couldn't wait til tomorrow any longer. She made, and I repeat made me a full length royal blue kimono for my b-day. I was completely floored!

3. Really wanting to go to San Fran on Sunday, but don't know as of yet. I need to get the hell out of town.

Came home from work early , coughing like a hound today. I know myself well enough to never take pills when I'm frustrated, because I end up knockin' myself out. I don't know what the hell is morphing inside my chest pipes, but it's enough to make life HELL, yet not enough to keep me in bed.

Molly, are you passin' your SARS up to Sac? (Hoping you're feeling much better today..)

I've still been skating (inlining) everyday, despite the wheeze lol. It feels too good to skate again, and the Natomas area is perfect scenary.

Nothing further to be deemed "eventful", so blog post ends now.

I should probably just describe this insane little clip I've just created, but I'd rather let the beauty of film making speak with it's own voice. (right-click icon and "Save target as...")

Art project update #1: Yuki's Project - percentage finished 25%

Ok, I know that's sad numbers, but I just need to take a little time this week to finish. Here's my progress...

I have the rough sketch somewhat laid out, but I had to put in a little color work to see where it's going. I have to get a feel for the overall finale, otherwise I get frustrated lol. It's the vision that captures me to keep drawing, and to get that I have to do a few aspects of the artwork at the same time. Most artists will tell you to work in stages, but I've never been one to move progressively. Just too impatient at times, and it doesn't give me the results that I look for in a piece that will satisfy me.

Working with some pastel for the skin tone, need to use a few more different shades to get the depth I want. Working with pastel is awesome, it's so...alive. When done properly, and with plenty of shading, the subjects just pop off the page. And if that's achieved, then mission completed. And usually some days, strangely on that time of the month, if mission is not completed, then mission is most likely deleted.

Ok, a webmistress' work is never done, so off I go to update OV.

My Kings have screwed up, yet again. Another season ended too soon. They just couldn't taste the win - too bad the fans are the only ones that can.

I'm now officially in mourning.

Ok, let's just say WAY too much excitement for a Thursday night...eh, Friday morning as of now lol.

Not to long ago arrived home from watching The Matrix: Reloaded, along with the other half of Sacramento that showed up for it's opening. The other half was "sardine-style" inside of Arco Arena just 3 blocks away. It's just like me to plan a movie excursion on the same night as...well, only one of the biggest nights in basketball.

The movie was great, a teeny, tiny bit disappointed, but the overall was kick-ass. And speak of that devil, from what I was told when I arrived home, the kings were whoopin' them some Maverick Hide while my co-worker/friend Kaozouaplia and myself witness some "Neo aka The One whoopin' as well. What I got out of the movie? That my ass needs to buy a black floor-length trench coat and/or a black plastic cat suit to go to work in. I'm more than sure I'd make good use of my powers on my preschoolers.

*sigh* Right about now I wish that the Matrix could program me some more time in the day. I have 3 unfinished art projects on my desk, I've been feverishly trying to find time to finish them. I have a feeling my saturday is already planned...Translation: Ape's butt has a date to be glued to the art chair.

Bleach...eeky monday's.

I'm having trouble seeing the point of having Monday's all together. Just start the already dreaded week with Tuesday, because for some reason, when Monday is mentioned you think "Ugh, another work week". But Tuesday is slightly less hated, it's a reminder that, yes, you're now free to whine that the weekend's over, but Tuesday chants "2 more days til Friday!".

Can you tell my monday completely bit the big one? Ok, point made.

Well, as cheesy as it will envitably sound, seeing a certain speedskater's smile always makes a bad day seem not so bad. Here's some treasures that I have the pleasure of viewing when I come home to my computer desk:

A collage of my favorite Apolo Pics that I've had above my desk since March 2002.  FINALLY got this bad boy framed, and hanging proudly on the wall. This is the imfamous UnZipped Pic that I got in SLC. This gem is really doing wonders on distracting me often...

Showin' the mom some love

Had such a great time today, spoiling the Mom, tryin' to give back a little of the 20+ years she's put into me. The older I get, the more my mother and I understand each other, and get really freaked when it seems like looking at each other is like looking into a mirror. Our lives paralell in so many ways and our relationship has undergone some major "morphing".

She's been my best friend, my cheerleader, my verbal punching bag at times lol, but it's always comfortable to know that no matter how old I get, she's always Mommy to me.

Well, Apey is getting excited that summer is almost here! I'm so beside myself on how much this year has just flown by, but it's been the most incredible to date.

Another insanely beautiful day outside, need to get some jogging in before tonight's Kings game. I swear, those mofo's better kick some Maverick ass...

- - Saturday, May 10, 2003

What an unusually beautiful saturday! I'm off to take full advantage of this "non-hailing/stroming/tornado-watch-in-Sac" moment, and get in some jogging.

- - Friday, May 09, 2003

Oh....My....God.

Ok, seen the new Apolo clip, and now I need to have a moment...

I'm fading in and out of consciousness with these caps...I may not even be able to finish this entry....eh...er...omg.

Frickin' Rain in May. Ugh.

I was all pumped about being a good little ape, and jogging at Land Park, but NoooOOOoooo. It has to rain. Lacie called and wants to have dinner with me tonight, I should just get dressed and meet her early.

Can't wait to hear back from the Baltimore peeps, should be some good pictures on the way. Did I mention I love Apolo so much I could melt? *sigh* Not much going on this week, just waiting for the weekend. I think I'm about ready to get my plane tickets to LA - Molla, if you're reading this, whatcho think? If I do, I'd have to get them in the next day or two, to get a half-way decent fare. I've had "Off and On Molla" for the past week now, and I can't take it no more! Can't wait for her to finally get home, I wanna blab dammit!

So, here's the product of an Ape left home alone with a camera...trying to test out the light settings on this thing - it does so much more than I've even tried...

- - Tuesday, May 06, 2003

Ok, what an ending to the day.

I came home from work, and what did I find in my mail? A package...from a certain someone in Washington...a certain someone named Sami! It was a very sweet letter and my very own McD Apolo pin. Sami, I can't thank you enough for sending me a pin, I was so pleasently surprised! These little buggers have been doing so well for us at Zoutou, bringing in amazing amounts of donations for RMHC, and I just know they'll be collector's items.

*sigh* I'm a happy ape, vewy happy.

Apolo on a pin? How freakin' cool is that?

Cinco De Mayo Madness

The only thing missing was pictures!

I met up with Lupe last night for dinner/desserts @ chili's near downtown Sacramento. She was up here on business, so I met her co-workers, and think that I chased them off, LOL. Lupes was in the middle of chowing down, while we both nursed a Tropical Paradise (a mix of tequila, rum, midori sours, etc) and strawberry cheesecake.

Had the best time chatting way into the night, eventually busting the joint to head back to Lupe's hotel. And what's a night out without some drama? Poor Maria, (lupe's co-worker) had went to buy some drinks, and came back to the hotel without her money/ID. I sure hope she did ok today with no lunch money, lupes! Had a great night chatting and laughing, must do that more often! ;)

I was also Super happy to get a call from my Molla while on the road. She called from Seattle with the Evening Magazine on the TV, and we listened to Apolo's Top 3 sexy chicks together lol. Finally we got something out of our Elusive Sweety after all this time, and come to find that, we knew it - he has good taste ;)

*must unglue ass from chair, need to exercise today*

When Family Invades

This weekend was my uncle's 45th birthday, and almost all of my mother's 6 siblings came, with all my younger cousins in toe. It was great to see everyone, since we're all spread throughout Sac and don't see much of each other. Everytime my mother's side of the family gets in one room, look out. LOL, they're loud and proud and spent most of the night laughing...a lively bunch we can be!

I've been working on my resume, can't wait to get a new job. I'm so ready to change fields, and work full time doing something with computers. I'm on this damn thing 90% of the time, mind as well get a pay check for it. Plus, I've been looking for some places to live here in North Sacramento, even in Colorado Springs. Prices are dirt-cheap over there, and I can get twice the size what I'd find in Sac. It's all a matter of where the work is, but I honesty wouldn't mind living in another state for a while. I'm ready for an adventure, and just plain need a change of scenary. It would actually liberate me, in a way, to move away from all that I consider comfortable here in Sacramento. Exciting things feel like they're just around the corner, it's my time to prepare.

Here's some pics taken over the weekend...pics of me that my cousin Pete took outside while I was talking to Jeff (note to Pete, don't take pics w/ a cigarette in one hand...EVER)

Praise God, and pass the asprin

If you're an allergy sufferer like myself, you've become VERY familiar with this phrase. I went to work feeling half way decent, and by the 3rd hour of my shift, I was in full-blown headache hell. I mean, someone hacking your forehead with a pick axe kinda bad. I'm determinted however to get out and jog at Land Park today, so down go 30 asprins, and my head will comply, lol.

My big sista, Lupes sent me more fun pics from last weekend. This one is too funny, despite the fact that Molly and I look like we're in a New Orleans Pub, this was taken in one of the 246,567 disney shops.

Also, being the good little Apolo fans that we are, Molly, Lupes, and I took pics with some of the huge letters in front of California Adventures. The letters spell out CALIFORNIA, but we choose to make it seem like Apolo-Mania has hit The Happiest Place On Earth as well, hehe!

Not bad for Jedi's -

Photoshop ROX. And for the record, these stunts were performed completely sober.
