One Rockin' Weekend
Well, I always know that I'm in for good times when I visit Lupes and Molla, and if the visit is for longer than a day - it could spell t-r-o-u-b-l-e.
I love it because with us, we're easily amused. No agenda, just maybe the guideline of trying not to laugh our asses off TOO much. We went out to dinner Friday to Red Lobster with Molly's cousin Dani. The night was never short of excitement, between having drinks spilled all over us, to watching people out in public in clothing that made you wish you were the fashion police.
Molly discovered that using utencils to eat was so outdated, and frankly, it's just flat boring. Thanks to the aid of Dani's meal, which was crab legs, molls gave herself a claw to spear her food. Once the waitress saw Dani with crab legs coming out her mouth like fangs, it was pretty much all over for us.
Straight from being drentched in shirley temples to being drentched in techno lighting, we hit the midnight bowl-a-thon from 12-3am. It's official: my friend=awesome, my bowling average=much-less-than-awesome.
Molly kicked our asses, and did an 80's dance to "I wonder if I take you home" in our faces to boot.
Saturday was the "surprise" dinner in Long Beach at L'Opera. Italian food to die for, or desserts that would finish you off if the meal did not. Thank you SO much to Mel and Kelly for coming, it made the dinner extra-special :) We ate, we laughed, we passed the cameras around, and talked about Vegas. And yes, Kelly, renting a hummer in some obnoxious yellow would be perfect to roll into the world cup.
The whole weekend was just awesome, because Lord knows the best ones are those that you don't plan - you just do. I would have to one of my favorite moments was Sunday afternoon, in Redondo Beach at Ruby's. Give me, Lupes, and Molls good food, some milkshakes, and a view of the ocean and we're not coming out any time soon. I think Molly said it best on her blog that our friendship goes way beyond the short track/Apolo thing. It is, and was initially our common bond, but more and more we're finding that another common bond is insanity. I love my cali girls with all my heart, and I'm more than blessed to have them apart of my daily life.
If that crazy Apolo didn't do anything else, he did bring me some amazing friends.
