Will Ferrell = Pure Genius
I just came back from watching Elf with a bunch of friends. I know, I'm late on the movie scene, but I've been so busy lately, this is the first movie I've seen in a while. I usually don't ask people too often "how did you like that movie?", because I've since realized my twisted sense of humor almost never parallels that of the normal movie-going public. I HEART this movie, and am so getting the DVD when it comes out. It didn't help that during the movie, I kept being reminded of all of us girls doing the Will Ferrell jokes in Marquette, and the more I saw Will, the more I heard "I DRIVE A DODGE STRATUS" in my head, the harder I giggled.
I'm a HUGE Will Ferrell fan, so I was bound and determined to watch this purely because I love his work. And even though I heard some people say the movie was retarded and not worth my trip, I'm glad I spent that 9 bucks. This movie, in certain parts, almost made me fall out of my chair with laughter. I really, really need to see this movie with Molly because I know we'd be rollin'...and it's more fun when you get to see your friends cry with laughter. My friends that went with me thought it was funny, but not as much as I did which is usually the case. Will Ferrell's dry humor just hits my funny bone like crazy, and the fact that the movie is so cheesy makes it even more hilarious. And the best part is that he's so loveably stupid in this movie, you're sighing "Aww!" in between busting a serious gut. I want to watch it again so bad, but I don't think that my cheekbones can take the strain. Bottom line, if you love Will, you won't be disappointed.
It's been a stressful week at work, this was just what I needed.
