ATTENTION:

We now interupt your regularly scheduled blog entry to bring you a random opinion.

Can I just say that the VMA's sucked bootay? I mean, if all they've got up their sleeves is Britney "make-my-boobies-one-more-size" Spears french kissing Madonna on stage, then they're gonna need a brighter red for the carpet. It's not news to us that Britney's out for shock value (which nothing is really shocking anymore) and always trying to top her last performance. I'm going to laugh my ass off if it comes to having the opening act celebs just humpin' each other like rabbits onstage, because frankly it's all so predictable.

How about this idea, it's a bit of a stretch but it just may be crazy enough to work. Let's get some TALENT on the show, I'll bet you anything that NO ONE will be expecting that shocker.

The only classy people on the VMA's this year? Missy, Mary J., and Justin. They stole the show, which unfortunately for them wasn't that much of a challenge.

Where's Jimmy Fallon when you need him? That man single handedly made the VMA's last year the most kick-ass of them all. I'll take being doubled over in laughter any day then being forced to watch Britney Spears fight to keep her *yawn* 46 minutes of fame intact.

And with that...

I head to the beach for the weekend.

Well, it's official. I'm a complete slave to technology. A slobbering, addicted minion to all things electronic.

My lifeline (aka My PC) has been down for the last 5 days. Count them, 5. Five days never felt so long. The puter is back up to par, and I'm just now finding out how far behind I am, lol.

But I had an angel visit me in the form of a Dell Inspiron 5100 Laptop about 30 minutes before I headed to work tuesday. This beautiful piece of machinery is now attached to my hip...which needs to stop because it's entirely too difficult to type that way.

The countdown to quiting my job is on.
The latest wave of creativity has inspired me.
I'll be finishing an art project that will bring in some substantial MQT spending cash.
I hate my body, yet I now have the courage to do something about it.

Life is strangely wonderful.

The Sweet

1. Long-time close friend announced she's engaged. The wedding will be February 7th. And yours truly was asked to be a bridesmaid. Never been one before, so I'm quite stoked/excited/nervous ;)

2. Finally purchased my Dell Laptop computer today. It's a fast little bugger. And damn expensive. *cutting up credit cards NOW*

3. Molla returns! Ape can now sleep in peace. Plus, Ape can now chat w/ molla about the upcoming MQT trip. Ape needs to stop referring to herself in third person.

4. Pretty confident about getting the time off I need for travel, I'm buzzing when MQT enters my mind. I'm going out on a limb and saying that it's going to be better than SLC.

The Bitter

1. It took a summer away for me to realize that I need out of my job/profession, active immediately, if not 3 months ago.

2. Can't really make a job move until after Oct. Damn Short Track obsession.

3. I want to move out of Sacramento. All the jobs that I would love to have are in LA, or 'round abouts. I get a headache when thinking of how much I need to save up to make this move.

4. Don't have my own place yet, and it's really getting to me now.

I laugh because life has either really been great, or really sucked. And I'm not used to having highs and lows all at the same time. It makes for a sore face - all that flipping from smiling to frowning. Although, both give you unwanted wrinkles, so I'm screwed either way.

So yeah, excuse me while I go hyperventilate with excitement about MQT while beating my upper extremeties with frozen meat because of what I just spent on a laptop.

*Reality Show idea courtesy of Kelly, Sue, Kaylene, April, and Luna

Now, we all know and love the NBC pick-a-mate classic, The Bachelor. Exhibit A.

But...we all KNOW that the best romantic Reality Show is yet to come. Welcome Exhibit B.

Brush off Bob. Axe Andrew. Avoid Aaron. This Speedskating spin-off will consist of the new Bachelor in town, in this case, Apolo Anton Ohno, taking up temporary residence in a lush, mountain cabin estate tucked in Colorado Springs, CO. He will share this sprawling love-nest with a random selection of 25 fans/Ms. Ohno hopefuls. But don't be fooled that the gaggle of girlies alone are every 21 year old male's dream...this will be a tough pick. The ol' OTC has been gettin' quite lonely lately, and Apolo realizes that he has yet to find that perfect significant other in which to:

- spit-shine his RBC's
- dry clean and press his skinsuits
- iron, starch, and sort his bandana collection by tag number, color, and pattern
- have the willingness to purchase him a new yellow gold watch every year, and help finance his bi-annual "Bling-Bling Binge"
- swear on her life, and her love for her Skater Boy that she will never accidently spell his name with two L's

A slightly different twist from the original Bachelor, the bachelorette removal protocol will consist of Apolo picking the girls he wishes to stay on, but instead of the predictable Rose, will place a bandana around the forehead of the lucky fanatic. During the elimination period, Apolo is carefully choosing his "soul-patch mate" while escorting the squealing girls to "Date worthy" locations such as Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, and of course a private skate session for 2 at the World Arena Ice Hall.

Olympic Gold/Silver medalist.
Certified Hottie.
SoftCore "Seattle Thug" charm.

Bachelor of the Universe.

Will Apolo Anton Ohno find lasting love, or will he need 25 restraining orders? Don't miss this rivetting new reality show that is sure to make you swoon, Short Track style - or if anything else, make it really suck to be you.

Random Post-Tour Ramblings

Oh yeah, the Ape is home. I have a few pictures and dialouge to post from the Tour De Cali, had a great time and beautiful weather.

My friend that's moving to Arizona on Monday is in town, and I must visit her before she disappears :(

It's back to work on the 22nd. That's right, school teachers get summer's off. Heh.

Bought my Marquette tickets - now all I need to do is suddenly get a paycheck of J.Lo porportions (or swipe Noelle's travel agent), and I'll have my Calgary and Bormio tickets as well.

My damn computer caught that damn MSBlast worm. I spent all last night de-worming and downloading patches/updates. And thus continues my love/hate relationship with technology.

Kelly, you make me laugh so much. You let me know what you need to get your new Reality Show going, and I'm SO there.

Visited the OZ chat for the first time in months. It was great to chat with everyone and catch up. Those light hearted, all you do is laugh, BT All Day, E'er Day chats are somewhat rare these days. Yowser, there's more drama goin' down than on the set of As The World Turns. Like every good cat fight, I'm planning on laying low and staying "De-Clawed". I'm just sad (and extremely worried) that the heart of the problems are coming from the non-diehard-Apolo fans that are upsetting some really great people.

Jo-izy, I'm going to the post office on monday to mail you that "special thing" I was telling you about. I'm sorry it's taking so long, I have so many things to mail people, I feel like frickin' UPS.

Molla, you've been MIA for too long. I'm starting to panic, seriously.

Well, the Ape is heading South for the winter rest of the summer. Leavin' tomorrow morning for what I call the "Tour De Cali", in which the plan is to hit San Jose, Santa Cruz, San Simeon, Los Angeles, and end up in San Juan Capistrano...

Sounds more like a "Tour De San". Anyway, be back in a week w/pics and all that jazz :)

I realize that California is in trouble. We need to weed out the whack jobs that are in office, and clean house.

But can someone say 'jigga wha'?

Beware of the Gover-nator.

Coming Soon.

We're nearly there.

And now, the waiting game.

I've purchased usshorttrackfans.com, and am now awaiting the final domain and server info. The site's almost finished, and I'm expecting big things from this endeavor. It's all about seeing the need and doing something about it.

I'm about to embark (and have those willing to invest the $) on doing my part to promote Short Track to the US. We seriously lack the enthusiasm that the rest of the world seems to be overflowing with when it comes to this sport. It's not nearly our fault, but a poor marketing plan on behalf of those in power to change things. I'm dying to have a hand in helping this sport any way that I can, not only because I love it, but I believe in it.

Creating this site, creating charity projects, all these efforts of love have really changed me. There's so much that people can do with the motivation to change, and even the smallest group of individuals can start the fire that ignites that change.

*Slaps self*

Ok, on a lighter note, a look into the theme of USSTfans.com: Marvel comic superheros
Apolo makes a damn sexy cartoon, eh?
